Then you can manually correct the bad data in helper column2, it will automatically be updated in help column3 * the bad data will be sorted to top or bottom of the column. * This leaves you with a bunch of improperly formatted 'european' numbers * Use the following formula =NUMBERVALUE([a2,',','.') to convert true european numbers to US in helper column3

* Use Paste Special, Values to create a new helper column2 with the column values in it * in helper column1, use the 'IF' I gave you before to copy all of the numbers into a single column In my copy of the example I used the table feature. The correct way is to use period for thousands separator, not comma ie 123.456.789,00 The remaining problem is that the numbers with the multiple commas are NOT correct European formatting. I have a partial fix that gets you a little farther along.
